Hungry customers at Port City Brewing Company will soon have something new to dig into: tacos. The taqueria La Tingeria will open its third location at the popular Alexandria brewery. The partnership will launch in October.
While Port City frequently hosts food trucks to provide dining options for its guests, the collaboration with La Tingeria will be its first partnership with a permanent restaurant.
“Our customers have been asking for more consistent food options,” said Bill Butcher, founder of Port City Brewing Company. “We are delighted to partner with David and his team at La Tingeria. Their menu is both authentic and unique, and the quality is top notch. Of course, tacos and craft beer are a natural pairing.”

La Tingeria is a fully halal taqueria with two brick-and-mortar stores in Falls Church and Spotsylvania, plus a food truck. It sells classic Mexican food and signature items from chef David Peña, such as goat and beef birria tacos, chicken tinga tacos, and tortas. At Port City, the menu will feature new items including lamb slider burgers and hot dogs wrapped in beef bacon.
“It was an honor that Bill and Karen Butcher chose us, La Tingeria, to lease out their new restaurant space,” said Peña. “I’m excited to develop new dishes and take our guests on a journey of my life through my art and food.”

While you await La Tingeria’s arrival, there’s plenty to do and taste at Port City in the meantime. The brewery also keeps a full roster of community events that are worth a visit, and guests can fill up with grub from a rotating roster of food trucks like Mineiro and Borinquen Lunch Box.
Coming up at Port City is the Port to Port Festival on August 17, where guests can taste beers from area breweries. Participating breweries include Bunnyman Brewing, Altas Brew Works, and Denizens Brewing Company.
